And the runner up in the Valentine’s Day contest to woo the socks off my feet was Katie from Confessions of a Young Married Couple! Go visit her today and congratulate her. She has a wonderful little blog!

Katie’s submission:

I met my husband when we were 15 years old. I took a class just so I could meet him. We dated throughout high school and then went to different colleges. We dated all four years of college long distance, and the summer before we graduated, he proposed on the ice skating rink in Rockefeller Center. I cried. And then fell down. And then cried some more. 3 and a half years of happiness later, we are expecting our first baby in the spring. Its a boy, and I know that I will have the same love affair with him, too. Just like with his Daddy.

Not everyone gets to be married to their best friend. I guess I’m just lucky like that. ❤

Weekend Review

I am so glad I survived the weekend. It was sketchy there for a minute or two!

I stole this from Strelitzia, Arrrg!

Friday began slow but around noon I decided to get off the couch and fix the tub faucet and folks it was all downhill from there. Don’t believe e-How for  a minute when they tell you how simple fixing your leak will be. I started at noon and two trips to the hardware store and three pizzas later (no I shared the pizzas) it was six o’clock and the leak was fixed. Oh and all the water that had run from the second floor to the basement was sopped up. Then Saturday morning I discovered that the dehumidifier was toast and all those wet walls and such were drying at a snails pace so that had to be torn apart and replaced.  Add this to the broken recliner and we have ourselves a set of three’s. Did you ever notice that things happen in threes? They do.

There is a bright side. The mercury got all  the way up to the fifties this weekend. I about went into shock! So we threatened the kids, well at least the older ones, that they were going to be lazy good for nothing lumps if they didn’t get their shoes on and off we went to the lake to catch some fish. Here is where I toot my own horn. I was the only one to catch a fish. And I did it all by my self, from hooking it to landing it to slipping it back into the water. Usually hubby is on the side lines coaching me on what to do but not this time, I had it all under control!

So how was your weekend?

*You know you only have a few days to enter the contest right!?

A Must See

I found another site I just love.

I would love to meet the creator. He weaves a story of a lady at a bus stop and how he fantasizes a conversation with her only to have her actually speak to him and go no where.

He thinks a lot like me and I have to wonder sometimes if we all don’t think that way, we’re just to scared to show it.

I once heard that on average humans think of sex at least four times in an hour. I often wonder who does these tests and what purpose they serve. There must be a reason we need to know these things.

Maybe we are bored?

Well then click the link and go exploring, you won’t be bored anymore.

Fun Times

Plinky is a new form of time wasting I discovered through Mighty Girl. It asks a question and you answer it. Pretty simple, it’s brand spankin’ new and I like how you can meet new people through it. I have a feeling I will be adding it to my list of favorite ways to blow time along with Stumble Upon.  I can kill so much time clicking the little green icon whole days could pass and I wouldn’t even know it.  One  thing that many rave over is Twitter and I signed up and looked around and haven’t been back. It is way too time consuming for me and fact is I don’t know anyone who cares what I am doing this very minute.  I lead a somewhat dull life in the winter time, so it wouldn’t be very exciting.

On Friday I didn’t have anything pressing to do and I was itching for quite some time to get out and smell the roses so we loaded up with hats and mittens and fishing gear and set off for the local hole. If you recall I mentioned that I received a bright and shiny purple rod for Christmas. This was it’s maiden voyage to the waters and I was praying that it would get some action. And it did. Typically I tend to use the shorter rods because that is what I am more comfortable with but this one it is  something like ten feet long and I felt a little intimidated by it’s size. OK it’s actually more like six foot. Long story short I caught a sucker and two trout. The sucker was an accident, well they all were really. The trout were caught in fast water so it was a hit and miss sort of thing and I only actually landed one trout the other got itself twisted up in debris and broke off. But I got some action, that’s a big deal. And I learned alot because hubby for the first time ever made it all about me. He watched me and coached me and hardly even touched his rod. That’s huge, he love’s to fish and I can’t imagine being there and not fishing.  I love the new rod, I love it with all it’s purplish length. We are a perfect fit.
